MASH Softball is proud to announce the hiring of Kayla Hatting as its new Director of Softball.  A proven program-builder with championship pedigree and a relentless commitment to developing people, not just players. Hatting brings a leadership style rooted in culture, accountability, and sustained success.

“What immediately stood out to me about MASH was the alignment in values,” Hatting said. “This is a place that prioritizes development, relationships, and doing things the right way. The vision for where MASH Softball is headed, the investment in its athletes and coaches, and the commitment to building something sustainable made this an opportunity I simply couldn’t pass up.”

Kayla will lead the continued growth of MASH Softball, setting the culture and development standards across all programs. Her impact will be felt in all aspects of MASH Softball. Coaching Career

  • Head Coach, St. Olaf College (2016–Present)

    • 203–121 overall record

    • 125–50 record in MIAC play

    • 2021 MIAC Regular Season Champions

    • First NCAA Regional appearance since 1996

    • Advanced to the NCAA Regional Final

    • MIAC Coach of the Year (2021)

    • Seven MIAC playoff appearances

    • MIAC runner-up finishes in 2021 and 2022

    • Eight straight full seasons with 21+ wins after no winning seasons since 1998

  • Graduate Assistant, Augustana University (2014–2016)

    • Member of the 2015 Super Regional team

    • Helped guide a 53–11 overall record

  • Began coaching with the MN Sting organization in 2017 (later competing as MN Bombers)
